It was 1.45pm. I should have been puffing and sweating and listening to Gary J or another of the brains trust talk about our lack of presence in the hole, or our need to incorporate more width. Instead, I was in the beer garden of the Scarborough Pub. The sun was streaming in from over the escarpment, warming my back and soaking up the last drops of moisture from rain which had last bothered us some 12 hours earlier. A few schooners of Cooper's green. A couple of (useless) bets on the Slipper. Home I went to bake some biscuits with the boys. They got burnt (probably the Cooper's green). A very pleasant way to spend a Saturday and our unbeaten record remains intact. So how did you spend this beautiful Saturday afternoon when, for reasons completely unknown, our footballing passion was put on hold?
Were the Hogs just a dream? On a sunny autumn day spent at the pub it felt that way. What about next week? I have no idea where we'll be at 1.45pm because neither does the IAFA, although a draw is promised for the rest of the season "in the next couple of days."
My tip is we'll know on Sunday (week).

Mate, a most whimsical account. My arvo was spent on the lounge with the remote and no football code was left unturned (much to the missus' chagrin).
Missed playing but pleased to have another week to try to get over my heel injury.
