I don't know if it was the tension of not playing on opening day or what, but we certainly got some good strong and at times heated dialogue going on this issue of a new player. Accusations flying all ways but in the end a healthy debate and one which we've briefly emerged from with our passion intact. For those not at last night's training, the big news came when TH10 called a freekick against Dean and Dean walked over and smacked TH10 on the nose. The other biggie was that Sasha has decided against joining the Coastals or, he says playing at Helensburgh this season. He was unaware of the debate but was told he would be welcome to come along on Saturday run the line, meet everyone and join the team from then. He deferred a decision until later when he said he wanted to take a year off because of the travel from Wollongong and that he had just sold his second car. So, an email has gone to the club telling them this without elaboration.
It appears we are still split down the middle on whether or not to tell the club we want to stick with 19 or accept that we need to do wwhat they want. For now, hopefully we can leave this behind and concentrate on our opening game this week. Details of a hastily cobbled together 6-6-3 lineup for our 15 outfield players will be revealed later. Although Mark Smith will probably call from Bosnia or Brisbane or Beijing whichever sh*thole he's currently lawyering in to say he can't make it, sending the best laid plans to ruin.
Only three more sleeps!
